There’s so much to learn about earth sciences in Alaska.

The Schmidt Charitable Trust provides grants for students studying earth materials and processes in Alaska, and for organizations that promote the understanding of earth sciences.

Grants are awarded for a variety of needs, including but not limited to support for internships, travel and/or expenses related to workshops, science fairs, or scientific meetings, emergency needs, and/or miscellaneous student living expenses

The Edward and Anna Range Schmidt Charitable Trust

The Schmidt Charitable Trust was established in 1993 to encourage and assist promising Alaska Native and other minority students to pursue education in the earth and environmental sciences.

With education in these areas students can prepare for future roles in science-based land planning and management of Alaska’s natural resources; conservation and development of Alaska’s natural resources; stewardship of Alaska’s environment; and research in earth history and processes.
